I really don’t know what to do with this site anymore other than to just leave it up for personal reasons. It’s not like anybody visits here really so I don’t know who I’m talking to. The Warmoth ’62 Partscaster has been Sold

The Warmoth/AVRI ’62 Partscaster I boasted about a couple posts ago was recently sold. I just lost my bond with it I suppose. The neck, a “Standard Thin” profile according to Warmoth, was just too skinny for me. It was a nice guitar all around and all, but I recently got a good G&L Legacy which IMO is a lot better all ’round.

So, uh, yeah…

I haven’t had much to post on this site recently. I did have a nice Warmoth Strat built using hardware from my old Fender AVRI ’62 which I grew to dislike both the neck and body. The neck and body were the only things different on the new incarnation of the guitar. Actually, scratch that, I did put in Custom Shop ’69 pickups on the Warmoth version. The prior AVRI had DiMarzio Area ’58′s and an Area ’61 in the bridge. They are good pickups, but I’ve been a sucker for CS ’69 pickups since I first tried them. Oh and there is also a Clapton style mid-boost circuit from Guitar Fetish that takes the place of the middle pot/knob.

Warmoth provided me with great service and will most likely do business with again some day. Both the neck and body are beautiful. Here are some pictures (click to enlarge):

The Feelies – Crazy Rhythms

The past couple years I’ve been really getting into the post-punk music genre. One my favorite albums is the Feelies’ Crazy Rhythms album. The first track, “The Boy With Perpetual Nervousness,” is probably my favorite off the album, but the whole album is great. Apparently, to get their desired tone from their guitars, they plugged them straight into the mixing console instead of using amps. The percussion on the album is not to be overlooked either, with some really “crazy rhythms” as the album title denotes. The Feelies are, in my mind, the best American post-punk band to come out of that era.

So I migrated from blogger to wordpress since blogger stopped supporting ftp transfers. Will probably be awhile until I get this site/page the way I want.
